Searching for books

Which search terms can I use to find my book ad?

You can search on e.g. book title, author name, publisher, city, school or university name, isbn - and combinations thereof. E.g. ”marketing michael harker”.

How can I find ads related to a specific school?

Just add the name of the school or university as an additional search term, e.g. the book title in combination with the school name ”java in a nutshell harvard”.

How do I find ads related to a specific city?

Just add the city name as an additional search term, e.g. the book title in combination with the city name ”java in a nutshell stockholm”.

Why do you only show 100 search results?

We believe that if the ad you are searching for is not among the first 100 search results, then the 101:th search result won't be interesting!

Creating book ads

How do I search for a book for which I would like to create an ad?

You are able to search on e.g. ISBN, the book title, the author name(s), the publisher name, and other search terms that could be related to the book.

Why do you only show 20 search results when I search for a book I would like to create an ad for?

This type of search when we load the book information for you is a rather performance intensive process for us at Cambobo. To improve the experience for you as a user at Cambobo we believe that 20 search results is a good compromise between number of search results and performance. If the book is not part of the 20 search result we encourage you to be more specific in your search terms and try again.

Can I add the book information manually to my ad?

Yes. Instead of searching for the book to create an ad for, you can add the book information manually. Simply click on the link "Add the book manually" under the search field on the "Create ad" page to add the information about the book yourself.

Do I have to give information about my location (using my zip code or school) in the ad?

No. But we do believe that it will increase the chances that someone would like to buy your book when they find out that you are in the same city or even study at the same school. The zip code is used to display the location of the book on a map.

My school or university is not among the given alternatives when I create my ad. What should I do?

Write the name of your school in the ad description field when creating the ad. This will make the ad show up when someone searches for your school name. In the future you will be able to specify the school name even though it is not in the list of schools.

What should I write in the field "Keyword - the ad keywords" and how is it used?

You could write words that has something to do with the book content (e.g. budget, balance sheet, accounting if you create an ad for an book about economy). This will make your ad more searchable!

I am getting an error message when I try to create my ad. What should I do?

We would encourage you to please try again. If the problem remains when creating your ad we hope you will have the patience to send us a message using the contact form at our contact page.

I wrote my email address wrongly in my ad. What should I do?

The easiest solution is to re-create your ad with the correct email address. The old ad with the erroneous email address will be deleted automatically after 24 hours.

I have not received my activation mail from Cambobo. What should I do?

First of all check if our mail got sent to your spam folder/filter. If so, mark it as "not spam" and the next time you get mail from us it will end up in your inbox.

If this is not the case, send us a message and give us at least the email address used when creating the ad and the book title. Using this information we will try to locate the ad and re-send the activation mail to you. Remember, the more information about your ad the easier for us to find it!

How long time do I get to activate my ad?

Your ad must be activated within 24 hours or else it will be deleted automatically.

For how long will my ad be visible to other users at Cambobo?

An activated ad will be available to all Cambobo users for 6 months, after which it will be automatically deleted.

Managing book ads

How do I edit my ad?

To be able to edit your ad it needs to be activated. If it is, go to the ad detail page and click on the pencil link named "Edit" at the top right corner of the book ad details section. You will be asked for the password of the ad prior to being able to access it for editing.

How do I delete my ad?

Go to the ad detail page and click on the recycle bin link named "Delete" at the top right corner of the book ad details section. You will be asked for the password of the ad prior to being able to delete it.

Do I have to pay for creating an ad at Cambobo?

No. Cambobo is a service free of charge.

Do I have to register to use Cambobo?

No. We only require your email address and a password to your ad, that is all. No user account or registration is necessary.

I have forgotten the password to my ad. Can you send it to me?

When you are asked for the password to your ad (i.e. when editing or deleting your ad) there is a link "Forgotten your password?" to a form where you specify the email address we should send the password. Note that the email address MUST be the same as the one you specified in the ad.

When will Cambobo launch in my country?

We have a plan for in which countries we will launch and when. But we are willing to respond to the request of the Cambobo users so let us know!

I cannot look inside the book I'm interested in. What's wrong?

Since we use Google Preview it is possible to preview books that's running with their program. Books that allow preview will have a Google Preview button right under its book cover.
